Aloravita Southwest Grading Activities
Construction Activities:
Drilling and blasting activities continue to clear the way for future excavation and grading on the west side of 83rd Avenue, north of Happy Valley Road for Aloravita Southwest.
Blasting continues with the next scheduled blasts scheduled for Zone 4 on Thursday, Oct. 8, between 10 a.m. and noon; and scheduled for Zone 1 on Friday, Oct. 9, between 10 a.m. and noon.
Drilling and blasting activities are currently taking place in ZONES 1 through 4 (see graphic).
Blasting activities are taking place weekdays (excluding major holidays) during daytime hours, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. An air horn will sound at 5 minutes and again at 1 minute prior to each blast. At the 1-minute warning, traffic along North 83rd Avenue will be temporarily stopped until the controlled detonation is complete, and the Blasting Supervisor issues an "ALL CLEAR". These interruptions are expected to last approximately 3-5 minutes. When possible, please use an alternate route to avoid delays.

Scheduled to begin Sept. 8 through late October, you may also notice increased truck traffic across 83rd Ave as hauling activities are scheduled to take place to transport material from one side of 83rd Ave to the other. A flagger activity will be in place to accommodate these activities and when trucks need to cross 83rd Ave, traffic will be stopped for a brief period for the crossing to take place.
